The Clear Choice
Invisalign® treatment is done with a series of clear, plastic aligners. During your Invisalign® consultation, New York cosmetic dentists Dr. George Sepiashvili or Dr. Wanda Mejia will use computer imaging to determine the amount of movement that will be required to bring your teeth back into alignment. With this information, a series of Invisalign® aligners will be made that will gently move your teeth into their ideal position.
You will change your aligners out every few weeks, with each set progressively straightening your smile. The aligners need to be worn at all times unless you are eating, or cleaning your teeth. The good news is, Invisalign® is almost entirely unnoticeable and the aligners will not interfere with your speaking abilities. This makes Invisalign® a wonderful option for people who need to correct their bite, but require a solution that is neither obvious nor cumbersome.
Treatment Time and Post Care
Invisalign® is designed to treat mild to moderate orthodontic issues. For some patients, treatment may take 12 months or less. This depends on your unique issues, and may require more time. Some patients have required up to 24 months for optimal results.
After your Invisalign® treatment, a retainer will need to be worn at night to prevent your teeth from slipping back into their previous position. Unlike Invisalign®, this retainer will not need to be worn during the day.
