Invisalign ® is the number one choice of adults and older children for a cosmetic dental solution to orthodontic correction. Traditional wire and bracket braces are obtrusive and can leave you feeling uncomfortable with your smile. This makes the clear, removable aligners of Invisalign ® a much more comfortable, yet equally effective option. In addition, when used as directed, it may effectively correct your malocclusion without metal wires and brackets.

Invisalign ® isn’t right for everyone, but it might be right for you. To learn whether you are a candidate for clear braces, please call (914) 526-2144 or email Advanced Dentistry of Mohegan Lake today for an appointment.

The Clear Choice

Invisalign ® treatment is done with a series of clear, plastic aligners. During your consultation, Westchester County cosmetic dentist Dr. George Sepiashvili or Dr. Wanda Mejia will use computer imaging to determine the amount of movement that will be required to bring your teeth back into alignment. Our Trios digital scanner provides us with highly accurate images that can be sent directly to Invisalign ®. With this information, a series of aligners will be made that will gently move your teeth into their ideal position.

You will change your aligners out every two weeks, with each set progressively straightening your smile. The aligners need to be worn at all times unless you are eating or cleaning your teeth. The good news is, Invisalign ® is almost entirely unnoticeable and the aligners will not interfere with your speaking abilities. This makes it a wonderful option for people who need to correct their bite, but require a solution that is neither obvious nor cumbersome.

Treatment Time and Post Care

Invisalign ® is designed to treat mild to moderate orthodontic issues. In general, treatment time is comparable to that of traditional braces for the same case. Both depend on the ability of the body to remake bone, and speeding the procedure too quickly can lead to increased risk of complications and poor results. However, new advances allow Invisalign ® to work faster. It can essentially cut the treatment time in half if you follow instructions and wear your aligners as instructed.

After your Invisalign ® treatment, a retainer will need to be worn at night to prevent your teeth from slipping back into their previous position. Unlike Invisalign ®, this retainer will not need to be worn during the day.

During your initial consultation, one of our experienced dentists will discuss what you can expect before, during, and after your treatment.

If you live in Westchester County and would like to know if Invisalign ® is right for you, please call (914) 526-2144 or contact Advanced Dentistry of Mohegan Lake to schedule an initial consultation today.
