The Dental Crown Process
Your dental crown placement at Advanced Dentistry of Mohegan Lake will take two office visits. During your first visit, your tooth will be prepared for your new dental crown. This will include reshaping your natural tooth to allow sufficient room for your dental crown. Your mouth will be anesthetized for this process, but if you are uncomfortable with this type of dental work, we can discuss your options for sedation dentistry prior to your procedure.
Once your tooth is prepared, we will make an impression of your tooth to send to our dental lab partners. Our Peekskill dentists work exclusively with Aurum and DaVinci labs to ensure your dental crown is precisely matched to you adjacent teeth, and will provide a strong and secure solution. The creation of your dental crown can take two to three weeks. During this time you will be fitted with a temporary dental crown to protect your tooth.
After your dental crown has been created, you will return to our office to have it placed. During this visit, your temporary crown will be removed and Dr. George Sepiashvili or Dr. Wanda Mejia will carefully inspect your new crown to ensure it is matched in size and color to adjacent teeth. If everything is acceptable, one of our dentists will permanently affix your dental crown, restoring strength, function, and beauty to your smile.
