There are two important practices for staying in good dental health: brush and floss your teeth regularly and visit us for routine exams and cleanings. These empower us to keep your mouth clear of bacteria, the cause of many dental issues, as well as identify any possible issues at an early stage—up to and including oral cancer symptoms.

We don’t always have to extract a severely infected tooth. A root canal may allow us to save it.

For this procedure, we remove all the living tissue from the tooth’s pulp chamber and disinfect it using minimally invasive laser equipment. We then reinforce the tooth with a special filling material and a new crown. All of this takes just one appointment!

Your teeth may be healthy inside but in bad shape on the outside. We can strengthen those damaged teeth by putting new dental crowns on them. If you have several adjacent compromised or missing teeth, we can provide bridges, which are crowns connected in a row and attached to existing teeth at each end. Our cosmetic dentists put their esthetic expertise to use when providing crowns or bridges, ensuring that they match the color, size, and shape of neighboring teeth for a natural-looking, balanced smile.

Whether you do it consciously or not, teeth grinding (also known as bruxism), can gradually wear down your tooth enamel and even lead to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Our team can help you overcome this uncomfortable habit using appliance therapy, through nonsurgical bite repositioning or by offering an occlusal adjustment. By removing a small amount of enamel from one or more teeth, we can give your teeth a level surface, allowing them to fit together naturally and comfortably.

When it comes to fillings, the Advanced Dentistry of Mohegan Lake team doesn’t just seek to repair areas of your tooth that have succumbed to painful decay. As cosmetic dentists, we want to make sure your teeth look great as well. Composite fillings enable us to do that. These are the same color as your teeth, so they never show through. Your smile will be seamless, and no one but you will even know you have fillings. We only use composite fillings at Advanced Dentistry for both their natural beauty and for the elimination of mercury-related health concerns from amalgam fillings. Our dentistry is mercury-free for all patients.

If you have gapped, crooked or missing teeth and for some reason aren’t able to receive dental implants or bridges, we can still help you. Snap-On Smile enables us to address these issues without surgery. We can simply snap a removable appliance over your upper teeth, lower teeth or both as needed to conceal those smile flaws.

Inlays and onlays are like fillings that we use to rebuild and fortify the outside of your teeth when they have minor damage instead of resorting to placing new crowns. We bond inlays to the center of your tooth and use onlays to repair a wider area that includes at least one cusp.
